ODE TO LAWRENCE BORIS

By Mae Bell Campbell

In Memory of My Dear Friend Lawrence Boris

Lawrence you always put a smile on my face
no matter how mad I was or how sad I was.
All I had to do was call you and you would make everything better.
The day I called and was crying on your shoulder, you told
me to hold up and let you change shoulders because the other
one was soaked.

The night I heard you were gone my heart broke.
I dropped down to my knees and cried and cried.
All I wanted was for one more day to talk to you.

I think about you everyday, but every time I look at
your picture my eyes start to water, because I didn't have
a chance to say goodbye my Dear Friend

I will never forget you and the insight you gave me
on my life and my new relationship.
When I cried to you and said "Lawrence I don't know
what to do, you said, just hang in there sweetie everything is
going to be alright.

But Lawrence you don't understand I cried, I have no Family
here and I feel so alone. Mae, Sweetheart you will always
have Family here in Maryland, because we are Family.

You promised to walk me down the aisle one day
and now you are gone, yet I take comfort in knowing you
will still be by my side.

I shall never forget you.
I love you and I miss you.
