obituary SMITH, Mrs. Lucetta F. (Tanner), age 41 of Dayton departed this life on Saturday, April 27, 2002. Lucetta attended Jefferson Elementary School and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1978. She continued her education by attending Columbus State University Business program, and received certification from the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) in New York City, NY. She was a member of Corinthian Baptist Church and was Program Director for Teenworks, Inc. Lucetta received a proclamation from The Ohio House of Representatives for her service to the Black Achievers Teen Program at the West Area Community YMCA. She served as the facilitator of the Youth Entrepreneur Workshop for the Partnership for Youth at the Jobs for Graduates Career Development Conference. She has served as the Chairperson for the Dayton Bomberger Teen Center Advisory Board. She recently became a Partner in the Gem City Dance Company and was serving on the Youth Committee for "Generation Fit" of the American Cancer Society. She was also serving as a Teen Advisor for Adventure Central/Wesleyan Five Rivers Parks after school program. Lucetta was a loving, devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her father, Troy P. Tanner, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Lee and Gabrella Stallworth; paternal grandparents, George Tanner and Lucetta Pinkston. Survivors include her husband, Darryl R. Smith; 3 children, Dionna N. (Courtney) Blake, Dominique Felicia Smith and Darryl R. Smith, II; mother, Angeline S. Tanner all of Dayton; brothers and sister, Troy P. Tanner, Jr., Akron, Ohio, Senior Master Sergeant Derrick L. (Ann) Tanner, Woodbridge, Virginia, Gabrella Denise "Nisi" Tanner, Dayton; grandchild, Cameryn Ryan Black; special aunt, Dorothy Calhoun; father and mother-in-law, John R. and Ida B. Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Cheryl A. Alves, Dayton, Mark (Charisse) Smith, Dayton, New Jersey; stepbrother-in-law, Ricky D. Love, Atlanta, Georgia; a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, May 3, 2002, 11 AM at Corinthian Baptist Church, 700 S. James H. McGee Blvd., Rev. Dr. P. E. Henderson, Jr. officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Viewing Friday 9 - 11 AM at the Church. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service.
